2019 Point in Time Homeless Count
In January 2019, the Western Virginia Continuum of Care (CoC) conducted the annual Point-in-Time (PiT) homeless count. Agencies and volunteers canvased the community to count and survey individuals who were unsheltered (in cars, abandoned buildings, and tent cities, i.e.). Homeless shelters provided client count information to the CoC. The data collected during the PiT Count is utilized by local, state and national government agencies to help determine homeless program impact and funding needs across the country.
